Too Tired...

Have you ever been so tired, that you just can't sleep? It happens to me a lot, for a few years though, the problem just seemed to work itself out. When I was tired, I'd curl up in bed and fall fast asleep. When I was a younger teenager, I had the problem of being too tired to sleep all of the time, and I could go days on end without sleeping. I can't do that now, I feel miserable if I don't get enough sleep. But tonight, I find myself simply unable to sleep, and it's driving me crazy because I'm bloody tired! I tried laying down, but I simply tossed and turned, until I got so annoyed with it, that I simply got out of bed and started to read. Then when the phone line became open I got online. In two hours, I will have been awake for twenty four hours. That's not really all that much, not compared to some people who stay up a lot longer without complaining, or whining about it. But I know that if I don't get at least a little bit of sleep, I'm simply going to be pure hell to be around later today. What can I do to try and fall asleep, do any of you have any helpful hints that you could share with a very tired woman, who's simply too tired to even sleep? u.u

That kind of sounds like a mild case of insomnia to me, but I'm no medical professional... I've never been so tired that I can't sleep. In fact, sometimes when I lay down, I'll fall asleep even if I wasn't tired. I have been so tired that I could barely move though. Not exactly from sleepiness, just exhaustion.
