What is the internet helping to teach children about the world

The internet is great for curious minds.Children can find out about any subject and get wealth of diffrent perspectives.But for all the fantastic things on the internet,there are some horrific things so what about the information you dont want them to see.

That's Your liability what will Your child read on the internet.You should control Your child's activities on the Net.Also there are many softwares to help parents in control their child.For example blocking opening sites with some defined contens and so on. I believe You heard for these tools.For example is NetNanny.
Anyway I don't see where is the problem, why You shouldn't together with Your child surfing the internet.
