have they a finger in too many pies?

in your opinion do you think google has a finger in too many pies? by this i mean the fact that they have email services, image search, web search, adsense, product searches and anything else (i know theres a huge manner) that i have not listed here. i know you try to make use of anythign you have and that everyone would like to expand, but do you think that they are just trying too hard? khris
