Quarter billion (250 million) for Beckham? Is this crazy?

I have read it on the newspaper,5 years contract for $250 million.He's going to be Donald Trump oneday if he's keep earning this much.

Very well put alinma!! Athlete's salaries are getting out of hand in all professional sports and the problem is that many of these athletes are so arogant that they think that they deserve more than the highest paid "player" in their perspective sports so the salary spiral continues.

For the record I heard he was worth £83m ($150m) (ie. assets), I think Mr trump has a bit more than that. The Chelsea owner Roman Abramovitch has £13billion ($20bn, even the guy who reportedly brought him to the US (Fuller former spice girls manager!) has £600m ($1bn) so he has a way to go yet... Beckham is supposed to earn about $30m a year for merchandising alone, and only(!) $8m for playing football... What's wrong with him earning as much as Trump anyhow?? If you can make the money you are worth the money, that's how the free market works!
