I was wondering if you can still get Lysol liquid. It came in a brown bottle and had kind of a medicinal smell. My mother in law used to put it in a little bowl and put the bowl in a pan of water on her stove. She said it killed germs that caused colds. You could also mix it in water to clean and disinfect with. I have not seen it in years.

As a matter of fact you can still get it. I have some. It smells like a hospital lol. I got mine at walmart but I've seen it in grocery stores and other places where you can get cleaning supplies.

I had not looked very hard. Every since our Wal Mart became Super Wal Mart it has lots more stuff, but less stuff that I personally like or want. Thanks for posting.

Who wants to spend five hours trying to find what you need? Super stores are way too big and trying to get help finding something is like standing in line at an amusement park!

Lysol Advertisement - Here is an old ad for Lysol Disinfectant.
I just bought a bottle of it about a few month ago. I like to use it for cleaning my bathroom. For some strange reason I like the smell after I clean with it. It's kind of a strange smell don't you think? I've been using it since I was little. My grandmother used it for cleaning all the time. She used to use it in the laundry I think, I'm not sure but I kind of remember her bringing it to the coin operated laundry. I got it at the discount supermarket, but they do sell it at most stores I think.

Hubby went out and bought me a bottle. Isn't that sweet. Really it is because the aisle it is on at Wal Mart makes me sneeze, gives me a sore throat, and headache. That could very well be why I never saw it anymore.

I have never heard of the liquid Lysol, but I have seen something called Dettol. It is sold in a brown bottle and has a scent like you described. It is also used for killing germs, we used to use it in our biology class to clean the desks.

I am not too sure if it can still be bought in the little brown bottles, but I have seen a lot of Lysol sprays in my local supermarket. They are used for much the same purposes as kitchen and bathroom cleaners and are supposed to kill germs. There is also one, which is not a spray, that deodorises rooms. These might not be the same type of Lysol that you are discussing, but I just thought I would mention them.

Back when I used to see this you could get it, and the original spray. Lysol makes very good products. I will probably stick with putting essential oils in water to kill germs in the air.

Yes you can and I do still purchase it. It smells like a bears den though. LOL The smell will go away in short while.

Yeah you can still get Lysol Liquid, I buy it at walmart, we have a super store, it is where the Laundry detergents, bleach and fabric softners are. I use it in my wash and for cleaning my walls, and bathrooms. I like it better than the spray.

Liquids are much more economical than sprays, because you do not have to pay for all the propellants to make a spray work. thanks

I have not seen it in years either. Maybe you can search the internet under their website and ask them. If they carry it, they will send you a coupon and tell you where it is to buy.

Wal-Mart has Lysol in a bottle. However, like a lot of other things, it no longer comes in a glass bottle, it now comes in a plastic bottle. I really like the smell, kind of reminds me of a hospital. Keep looking.

I have heard of the name Lysol liquid but I have not seen it around for a long time you know a lot of good items I do not understand why they take them off the market and put something which is not as affective as we used to use it for the same remedies as your mother in law did.
