Here is a easy chocolate toffee recipe that we always make at Christmas.
1 cup chopped pecans
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 stick real butter
milk chocolate chips
1.Take a metal cookie sheet and coat lightly with butter.
2.Spread chopped pecans on the pan.
3.In a heavy medium saucepan add Sugar and butter. (medium heat) Heat to Boil.
4. boil while stirring constantly for 7 minutes.
5. Immediately pour and spread mixture evenly over the pecans.(careful not to get burned)
6. Sprinkle milk chocolate chips over the mixture. The heat will make it easy to spread the chips over the candy.
7. while candy is still hot, cut into 1 1/2 inch squares.
After cooled eat and store for later or package as gifts for holidays.

Wow! That is too easy! Looks wonderful. Thanks for sharing with me. I had better wait a few weeks before making it though. We are still trying to loose those Christmas pounds! LOL That would be a great one to add to my Christmas Recipes. We give cookie and candy trays to all our family members. This would be great for them. Thanks, I am ready for Christmas again! How many days is it till Christmas???? LOL

I know how the weight at Christmas goes. We have lots of goodies too.
I have about 8 - 10 recipes that I make each year to share with our friends.
I usually make goodies all day the 1st Saturday of December and make goodie bags and baskets for friends and my husbands co workers.
I guess we will just have to share our tried and true recipes with each other LOL.
When we lived in Omaha I had my baking day the 2nd saturday in December because
the 1st Saturday I always hosted a Cookie Exchange with around 10 other ladies.
Cookie Exchanges are sooo much fun.

Sounds really good. that's all I need another fattening recipe LOL. What happens if you don't cut it while it's hot. I would thinking it would be hard to do.

The candy can still be broken. Just not cut nice but you will have unique size pieces.
If the candy is cooled and the chocolate is set then use a dish towel to cover the candy and a clean hammer Works great to take out your aggression LOL
The hammer breaks the candy pretty easily :)

Sorry have to ask, since I buy so much in bulk, on the butter is that 4 or 8 oz, and cooking time what is texture I am looking for. I have a commerical stove and it heats way faster than normal so mine did not turn out :(
