With the kidnappings going on , i for one am so scared to let my children out of my sight. Herein Missouri they are urging all parents to go to the bus stop with thier children. My kids hate it because they do not go anywhere without me. anyone here in the same boat?

Ok - my child is almost 15 and I am just letting him cross the road. Sad but true. I live on a busy road. I believe we have to do that nowadays.

I am grateful that I live in a crime-free country. Not so much crime free but not as often/common or serious. But if I am baby-sitting and I need to go to the supermarket to get some supplies I do get worried when they tend to ponder around on their own :S

Its a natural instinct of a parent to be worried for their children. There use to be time when I cant help myself from not contacting my daughters, both are beautiful and 18/16 age, whenever they are out. I do realize that children resent that when they are in teens and I cant blame for that but what a father or mother can do! They have the right to resent and I think we have the right to take care of them and be conscious for them.

Its so scary all the bad stuff that can happen to a kid out there. Ben Ownby kidnapped at his bus stop. Thank God they found him and that other boy who had been missing for 4 years. Its too scary to let your kids go anywhere without an adult to keep them safe.
