it is a silly fad. but the fact is that teens (mostly) want to be accepted. And they want to look cool. Theres many factors on myspace, many facets through which you can show your "coolness"...ie: amount of comments/friends. Also, the picture helps because they choose their best pics to upload onto the site. They wanna be cool. Like always, but...i guess this is showing coolness in the 21st century eh.

I don't think myspace is a fad. I signed up to promote another job I do working at home. Once I signed up and have been on it I found out it's a lot of fun. There are so many different cool things you can do on myspace. Which is why I think it's so popular because it really is a lot of fun.
I have also found friends I haven't herd from in years on there.
I guess you can say it's just a matter of taste. What one person thinks is fun another thinks it stupid. I personally have a blast on there. My one friend is hooked she's always on myspace heck she fills up my page with stuff. LOL
You never know if you tried it you could surprise your self and like it.

MySpace was created for artists to promote their music and such. I'm an author and a life coach and I use myspace to market my books, and to keep in touch with my clients who are all over the world. I have readers that subscribe to blog. I have also been able to reunite with people I went to school with 20 years ago.

Everything is a fad at some point... Remember Pokemon? It's a lot liek that but with the internet. "oooo add me on myspace and ill send you some cool comments" as opposed to "oooo gimme your blastoise and I'll let you have three Chanseys". Personally, I made one nearly a year ago now, and I don't check it anywhere near as often as I used to. I think it's fine how it is though, but I think it's right that its mostly bands on there.

I disagree. I have enjoyed my time on MySpace because I have connected with old classmates that I never thought I would find. Such sites as classmates.com try to charge, to where MySpace is free, and worth it I think. I couldn't see a point if you are still with all of your classmates now, like in high school, but once you all spread out and go to college or move away, it's hard to keep connected, but MySpace does that. Plus, it helps me keep my emails organized. I check my email on there, but not my regular emails accounts, haha.

Ugh. I just had this whole posting, and for some reason, it didn't show up. So, I shall start over.
What I had said was, not meaning this to be rude, but if you don't have a Myspace, you aren't going to get the point. I have found numerous friends from high school and my old college that I otherwise would have to way of contacting, or even having the slightest clue on how to contact. Because almost everyone has a Myspace, it's easy to find almost anyone you are looking for. It's also a great way to be creative, and it's alot of fun putting stuff on your page, doing bulletins, sending funny comments. I like it because it's easier to keep in contact with people that you don't necessarily want to spend hours on the phone with. As far as it being a fad, I'm not sure. Around here, in Dallas, alot of bands, radio DJ's, etc. use Myspace as their main website, because it's the easiest way to reach out to a large group of people at once. And EVERY band or artist has a Myspace, which is a great way to keep up with the news of your favorite ones all at the same time. I think you'd be surprised just how much you were missing! :)

i don't think its that much of a fad...well, the EVERYONE having a myspace profile is a little funny. i've been a part of online communities where you go just to meet new people and maybe hook up with old friends. myspace offers that as also a lot of networking for those who have a business to promote. you can reach a broad target range in just one site.

Ok for those that dont understand why myspace is so popular. An AVERAGE person does not know how to build a web page. Myspace is basically a personal web page without knowing how to do any technical computer stuff. Upload pics, put in a description and boom, you're online. Then you can find old friends from high school and college. You can browse their friends and find long lost friends. Social networking is the biggest thing nowadays because everybody is online. It's a way to keep in touch with people that don't have email either. It's a win/win situation and thats why it's so popular.

After I graduated from high school, I lost all contact with friends and since high school I have gotten married and moved to the other side of the country. I really like this site because I am able to get back in touch with my friends and talk to them on a regular basis. I wouldn't have been able to do this if it weren't for my myspace.
