To me the "The Unforgiven" and "White Hunter Black Heart" are the best work of Clint Eastwood as a Director/Actor. The Unforgiven totaly engrosses you and slowly slowly deglamorised wild west Western concept. As far White Hunter Black Heart is concerned it totaly take you in the real world, was based on true incident in the life of Jhon Huston while shooting for "African Queen" in Africa.

I agree with you 100% about "The Unforgiven " and i also thought it was one of Gene Hackman's meanest roles . I'm sorry to say i missed "White Hunter Black Heart " I'll make it my business to check it out since its about John Huston -take care and thank you

Thanks for "best response" let me add one thing more The Unforgiven was also one of the last movies of Richard Harris.Further White Hunter Black Heart was the movie from where Clint Eastwood established himself as a classy director. This movie got a standing ovation at Cannes and frankly I dont remmber but this movie either got an award their or got an appreciation from the jury. The movie also generated controversy by Angelica Huston, the actress daughter of Jhon Huston, who was angry for portraying his father(played superbly by Clint Eastwood) in this cold blooded manner.

Well it Kelly's Heroes. A movie for some reason never gets old for me.

Dieings not much of a Living! My two Favorites are The Good, The Bad , and The Ugly, and The bridges of Madison County. My opinion is that Eli Wallach should have gotten the Oscar for his performance in The Good The Bad And The Ugly. I guess he wasn't well known back then. Take care Elton651

"The Good , The Bad and The Ugly was one of the first "spaghetti westerns " that Eastwood was involved with --he made many after that . And Eli Wallach starred in Off-Broadway for years but the movie that made him was " The Magnificent Seven " . Bridges was a little too gloomy for me lol -but Clint and Meryl mad a lovely couple lol -thank you very much and be well
