joginder is better as he has most wickets in this ranji season while pathan hasnt taken any wickets for india or his state team.
though joginder has to prove himmselves, pathan has fasiled and let everyone down

Well i haven't seen much of Joginder sharma ...but i think that Pathan will be much better prospect..as you rightly said that joginder sharma is very much new to the international cricket..and considering the world cup in march i don't think he has much of a time to settle into the groove.I think Pathan will serve a much better purpose.!!

the time will tell whether joginder is better or pathan was the right choice but is certainly a good move by selectors as joginder singh was the star performer in the last ranji season so it is the best time to test him also before the world cup might he be the shining star for india in future

It is not the question who is better but the point is that Pathan has to regain his confidence and strike back again, for that reason taking Joginder Sharma is a tool (I think). Because it is the competition that brings out the perfect and best performance of any player. And Joginder will also get some good opportunities if he play well in this series.

Joginder Sharma should have been in the Indian team before Irfan Pathan. He was just given a few chances and then pushed to wilderness. He is a top class performer at the first class level, both in bowling and batting. Yes, Irfan Pathan's batting has improved so much after coming into the Indian team, especially in the one dayers, but he was selected purely as a bowler and his primary job is to take wickets. His batting should be considered just a bonus and it should not be the primary criterion for his selection. Let us all hope Joginder is given enough chances to prove himself and the outcome to be fruitful.
