Is Politics Highly Addictive?

January 13, 2007 9:35pm CST
A month or a few days ago, I was a non political guy but after I started protesting against some corruptions of our country, I became a political (left liberal). And also a politics addict. What is wrong with me?? I can't live without it.

Politics is addictive. Once you get fired up, you want to do all you can to achieve your objectives. Watch that you don't get burnt out though. Politics can also be exhausting, and after a while you can get tired of it all. But by and large, keep going. People who volunteer for political work are the unseen heroes who make sure that democracies run smoothly. Without these volunteers working very hard for free, millions wouldn't have political parties and programs to vote for at election time.

Well keep going. Fighting corruption is a noble thing - ALL countries go through it at some stage, and whether you win the fight or not determines how successful your country will be in the future. I think it is underestimated how often the course of history is changed just by a few people doing the right thing.

But I believe that politics is a dirty thing, especially in India and I believe it as I am an Indian. But, politics is needed to fight every corruption. As politics is dirty in India, fighting corruptions is not possible for me.
