A 20.2 pound stray cat was found halfway stuck in a doggie door last Wednesday in Gresham, Oregon. The human society said that the cat was trying to steal food from a family's home where they had put food out for their own cats.
The cat was rescued by the Oregon Humane Society. They are offering a free bag of low-calorie cat food with the adoption if you wish to adopt this very big kitty! *laugh*

The cat with me in my avatar is the one we consider our "fat" cat. It only weights about 15 pounds. A 20 pounder would be way too big for me.

I watched the video on Fox News. I am surprised the cat only weighed 20lb. I though it weighted much more. The doggy door was so tiny! I wondered what dog beside a mini-poodle could fit through it. My husband has a 25 pound cat that doesn't look as big as that cat does.

I also saw it on Fox News. That cat did look a lot bigger then 20 pounds. My sister has some big cats but no where near that size. I heard they were looking for a new home for it. I guess they couldn't find it's owner. Someone was taking good care of that cat. I would think they would miss their cat.

Oh that poor kitty. I feel so bad for him. He had to be miserable stuck that way. He also had to be pretty hungry to try and come into a strange house like that. I'm glad someone found him and could help him. I'm surprised though that he only weighed 20 pounds. It makes me wonder if their scale is wrong. I've had cats that weighed 20 pounds, of course they were just very large cats and not fat at all. They were just large all over which is strange considering they were runts of the litters.
I'm sure he'll find a good home though in no time. Usually pets that hit the news find homes fast.

wow that is one big cat. :-0 I never would have guessed it was only 20 lbs. I had a cat once that was 25 lbs and it wasn't near that size. Can we say Kitty Treadmill? lol Thanks for the story.

I saw that on the news. His name is Hercules!! He was a fat cat stuck in a doggy door looking for food. He ran away when some guy went on vacation. He came back and it was gone.

Yes, I saw that on the news also. That was a very very big cat. Believe it or not my neighbor has a really huge cat as well around that size too. That was very interesting...

The average tomcat can reach 15 - 17 Lb or more without being fat. So 20lb is probably not excessive if it's a male cat.

That poor cat. That cat seems like it would belong to someone with it weighing that much..I don't know too many stray cats that weigh over 20 pounds!

That has got to be the biggest cat I have ever seen!!!
That cat's head is bigger than the lady's that is holding him!!!
I can't imagine finding a cat stuck in my doggie door. Sad to say, I would have grabbed my camera to take a picture because I wouldn't think anyone would believe me! LOL

wow! that sure is one large looking cat. I agree that it doesn't look like it only weighs 20 pounds. I think that is about 9 kilos. I have a cat that weighs 9 kilos but he doesn't look anything like that. In fact he is pretty lean looking he just has a huge frame.
He must have been going from place to place eating their food all day.
Great discussion, I like reading about animals. Tanika.
