Yes I remember that one. And I remember buying some items to see if it was true. It was a good marketing ploy.

I don't know if P & G actually began the legend, but it did get them lots of attention

One of my favorite Urban Legends was mentioned previously on this web site. It's the Do Not Call list for cell phones. The hoax tells people that cell phone numbers are going to be released to telemarketers. They've been saying this for years and it is not going to happen. This e-mail / hoax has been going around since 2004. Cell phone providers were considering making a 411 directory a few years back but as of 2006 the plan has been put on hold due to public concerns. If they do make a directory, rest assure inclusion in it will be completly optional.

There are several that circulate that really irritate me. I really wish people would investigate things before they emailed them on. Below are a few that really irriate me:
1. Using your PIN number in reverse at an ATM will call the cops. It is false http://www.snopes.com/business/bank/pinalert.asp
2. Men with perfume will come up to women in parking lots and attempt to kidnap them. Again false http://www.snopes.com/crime/warnings/perfume.asp and this one http://www.snopes.com/crime/warnings/walmart.asp
3. Amber Alert for Ashley Flores, also false http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/missing/ashleyflores.asp
4. Bonzai kittens, order your kit to shape your cat how you want: http://www.snopes.com/critters/crusader/bonsai.asp
It only takes a few moments to look things up and if people would do that it would save a lot of agravation.

I have read the responses and I'm learning. I never thought that these all could be done. I heard many things but I have not experienced them. I hope nothing of such will happen to me.

I've received that Bill Gates email tons of times!! Its not going to happen so quit forwarding them to me. *LoL*
I like the urban legend that says you can get sucked through the toilet of an airplane. Its already been disproved on "Mythbusters"...but its still pretty entertaining.
