My New MyLot Goal

I started a thread a few days ago where I talked about how I set goals for myself on MyLot every day. Sometimes the goal is to make 10 new threads. Sometimes the goal is to reply to 20 threads. It usually depends on my mood. Lately my new goal is to start 50 new topics. Not the topics where I say "Do you like cheese?" in the subject line and then in discussion details I say "I do". Those types of discussions kill me. Rambling, sorry. Just interested to know if you think it is better that I start 50 new topics or reply to 50 threads.

Well, I personally love it when you start a lot of new threads because it gives me something to respond to *laugh* But I think that if you are just looking to make money, it is quicker and easier to reply to threads. After all, I don't think that we get paid if we start a topic and no one replies, but we will always get paid for responding in a topic unless that thread perhaps gets deleted. But please, don't stop posting threads! *laugh* You help me reach my personal goal of replying to 100 posts a day - I can barely make it without your help, honestly! *laugh* I get to the point where I can't find anything on the hot topics of the day that I haven't already responded to! *laugh*

I would love to start as many topics as possible but it's just not my stregth to do so. It's easier for me to reply than create my own topics. We all have goals, and we become happy when we reach them. So whatever comes easier for you, then I guess you should go for it. 50 sensible topics in a day is quite a hard feat but if you can do it, then that would be really cool. Good luck on it!

See the thing is if all you are doing is starting new discussions you are just asking others basically to help you earn and you aren't really contributing to the message board.
I would say you should do a fair mix of the two of starting new discussions and replying to people.

Yeah, I don't want to start some stupid discussion, that make me crazy.
I also want to set up a goal for myself, but I find it is diffcult to me to finish.
Of casue If I have plenty of time I will finish my goal, but the problem is that I do post just in my spare time, If the work is busy, I have no time to do it.
So I just post according my time.

I don't think it makes much difference weather you post your own or respond to others. I always make 1c for each, no matter how many comments I get on my discussions.
Maybe I'm misunderstanding it but I haven't really been worrying about the dollars and cents here. I don't come here often anymore since I found BCR where I'm planning to make some serious money :)

I think that you should start topics whenever you find that you have something intelligent to say. Otherwise, you should concentrate on making replies.

I try to get 100 points a day. Thats my new goal. Of course it will be a mix of making new topics and replying to topics. I don't just do this for money, i do it for fun too! I usually put a good movie on and mylot while watching that!

I have always liked replying to your discussions so if you want to post 50 I say go for it. That is good for me. I on the other hand have a hard time coming up with things to start a discussion about so I choose to just reply to them. I think that we are all different and that is what keeps this going so well. Whatever works the best for each of us is what we should do. I say do whatever it is that your head tells you to do.

hi,i just started mylot a few a days ago.At first, i thought making new topics are alot easier, but then,i was more of a responder rather than a discussion starter.
with so much ideas in my mind for the topic i wanted to post, somehow it took me so much time to what would come first. In a way we do have something in common, iprefer not to post a new topic that a responder would just say "yes,no" or "i do,i dont"..
i dont mean to offend anyone on this ground, i just want a realy good discussion where everyone would continue exchanging topics, responses,comments...in a way, everyone would get the benefit of it, right?

Maybe start one or two new topics and concentrate on responding. Starting so many new threads at one time people have a tendancy to look at a few and then ignore the rest. By all means think up fifty new topics but space the posting of them out over several days.

Well since I haven't been able to completely figure out the money system yet, I would say how about coming to a happy medium, set a goal of 25 new threads, and 25 responses, and if you have time go for more....50 new topics are a lot, and you do get money for responding I know, not sure what you get for starting a discussion. I like to set goals as well, but I have no set consistant time on here, cause I'm really busy, so when I sit down to get on mylot, I set my goal then....I make a monthly goal....this month it is to hit 500, and right now I have a long way to go. Good for your for setting goals, its a good thing!
