At what age do you think you should tell your kids about the birds and the bees?

I sat my children down when they were 7 and 9 and told them the basics, I know they are going to hear things at school and would rather they get the right information from me than some sick version from their classmates at school.

From my perspective, you did the right thing. In my own case, my oldest daughter was THE most curious girl I've ever known. From the time she could form a question, (which was very early) she asked about everything. Usually those "more embarassing" types of questions were reserved for when we were waiting in line at the grocery store to checkout. I answered though, because I DID want my children to learn it from me, not someone who's un-informed, mis-informed or has motives that aren't good. I learned a lot from my oldest, and when her sister & brother came along, it got easier!
