Does anybody know any guitar exercises that increase speed and precision? I like too shred but lose rythm and tone if I get ahead of myself.

If you really want to increase percision, the best way to do it, regretably, is scales. Especially if you want to shred. When your playing a solo to a song you have to try and stay in the right Key. It can be difficult finding the key of a song. But trust me man, I'm a guitar player of 5 years and scales really do help with precision, finger exercise, muscle memory. If you would like I could write out some patterns for scales that you could practice. Make sure you use all of your fingers as much as you can. Especially your ring finger and your pinky finger. Thoes two fingers tend to be the weakest when playing guitar so use thoes as much as possible. Trust me, it helps BIG TIME in the long run.
