Do you get defensive or offensive

On the whole I try to remain calm particularly if the other person is being offensive because being calm can 'throw them off balance' and perhaps lead to sorting out the issue more easily. Being offensive doesn't help the situation and in the past when I was much younger, I then tended to become defensive. Then I realised that didn't help the situation as there was still conflict, so I went into the neutral/calm manner which I have found to be much more effective in resolving issues.

I think a mix of both, though I believe I push more than I step back, which often leads me to be percieved more aggressive than I initially mean things.

Not with both. I face a problem always with a optimistic mood because if I could solve a problem then it shows I am successful or else it will prove that I have learnt a lesson and it will tell me better luck next time.
