why do muslim hate pig?

Umm... I'm not muslim, but I heard about the story somewher, I don't know it's true or not... It is said that Muhammad actually really like to eat pig. One day, knowing his husband like to eat pig, his wife save the pig for the last. Since Muhammad is quite full already, he then throw up after eat the pig, from then, he banned Muslim to eat pig The story I heard is something like that, sorry if it's wrong

I do not know but I think it has something to do with their religion, i.e. something that is in the Koran. Perhaps someone can enlighted us further.

I also dont know why muslims hate pig.But it is their belief so let them do whatever they believe.I am a christian and about pig..hmm it is one of the tasties non veg items.

I will answer this, Im a muslim and my religion tell us to not eat pig and dog. I dont know the truth reason for this but my spirit leader tell me the story, when muhammad doing a party he's not get pig meat and dog meat so he tell us to not eat that. sound strange.. but that the reason why we hate pig and dog.. LOL

i am a moslem. i dont aggree if u joke about my religion. do u think your religion is the best? NO. ISLAM is the best because it brings peace for all people on the world. not only for moslems.

Hmmm, I don't know because I'm not a muslim, but I "think" the reason why they don't like pigs is because pig is a really gross animal and the most disgusted one.

islam has some principles to be followed...one of that is obey the quran.quran tells to leave the pig....

Everybody hate something. And for the Muslim, they didn't hate pigs but their religion set a law to avoid the pigs. Why? Because the pigs are the only animals that eats everything, including the dirtiest thing, yeek! And in the pig itself there are worm/virus that cannot be killed even though you cooked the pig.... to know more you can check the scientific research about pig. Islam (Muslim religion) will not tolerate anything that will be a threat to human life. Because Islam is the way of life...

I was told by a Muslim friend that it came from a belief that in ancient times pigs were observed to (apparently) eat mud, etc., while rooting for food, which led to the belief that pork was thereby dirty in some way. Of course this did not take into account the selective digestive process of the pig which allowed only the nutritious part of their intake to go towards building up their bodies.
