Do profiles give us more money?

I've been looking through a lot of profiles here on mylot, and I saw some really good ones. And I was thinking of doing one myself. Now, I figured that there must be a reason that mylot gives us that advantage in making a profile. Some of my thoughts were that maybe we get more money, and ratings. What do you think? Do you think we get more money, and ratings, if we have a profile?

Yeah like the other posters said, it's just there for others to learn more about everyone.
I use profiles to keep track of Mylot friends. If they aren't posting to any of my discussions in a weeks time, I erase them. No sense in wasting my time with theirs if they aren’t returning the favor, you know?
I also use the profile to determine whether or not if I want them as a Mylot friend. If they aren't really posting anything I can relate to, there isn't any since in making that commitment.
Then there is the best reason, I love learning about other people! Where are they from, how old are they. I love their pictures the most. It's neat.

Agreed . .
I also think that better profiles doesn't means huge pay ..
Its just for show-off or to decoration ! .
may be ..
I don't have a good profile.. I kinda emphasize more on discussions rather than profiles !!

I feel that the profiles are just there to give us the option of showing off ourselves more to the community. I really don't think that we get paid more for doing things with our profiles *laugh* I wish that it were true! If so, I might even be tempted to go in and fiddle with things. of course, I can't prove that Mylot won't pay us for updating our profiles. But I don't believe that they do. If you come up with any evidence supporting the thought that someone has gotten more money for doing something to their profile, I hope that you will share it with the rest of us! *laugh* That would be wonderful! ^_^

I don't think that profiles would earn us something. However, it would be a nice way to let the community know things about you. You can put it with infos for other members to get to know you better. It's just a matter of introducing yourself to everyone.

I really don't know how much profiles help us to earn more money, but I have noticed that some profile can attract people and one can get little more responses. But for the best result regarding earn more money you have to have quality discussions.

I'm sorry don't know the answer, but did want you to know I'm not ignoring the discussion. A profile would help others know more about you and you may have a lot of friend requests. Presently, I have been adding more of my interests to the group, as this has increased peoples interest in my posts.

Ditto on this response - can't really add much more to this or the previous responses, except maybe too for me looking at my interests, sparks a thought for a new discussion :)

They're just there to make yourself more at home. But like this question points out, most people are just here to make money. The more you add to your profile, the better chance you have of getting more people on your friends list and getting people to notice what you post. But no, any earnings you get from your profile would be indirect and probably pretty insignificant. If you look around at most profiles you can see that people decided they'd earn more by posting.

Well, I don't think that mylot would give us more money if we created a profile. It's just their for letting people know who you are.

You don't get paid for making a good profiles, its good that myLot gives an option for customizing profiles because a profils represents personality of a person to whom it belongs and as well his/her skills in designing and coding.
If you have a good profile that would attract more people towards adding you and making you their friends and by this you will get more friends responing to your topics and you will earn more.

I think I read in the mylot rules that there is no credit given for the photos in a profile because they are of a personal nature. ....When I get to the point (if I ever get to 500) and can post with photos I'll probably take some for a profile. Right now, I'm still learning the ropes and to be honest, I'm not quite certain how much I'd like to reveal....I do think the profiles with a little info and some personal info are nice.

As far as I know I am not getting anymore earnings from updating my profile like I have been. I believe the earnings system is based more on the quality of your discussions. The profile is just a bonus thing that one can do to let other's know a little more about you and to possibly take away some boredom when you can't find any topics that interest you at the moment.

I guess they give an extra incentive for members who do their profiles nice & attractively. Because this will enhance their site's rating then. I think mylot profiles is kind of an equivalent to Yahoo 360. I mean, if they mentioned in their terms & conditions that each & every activity will be reviewed and reward a credit, then that includes making up our profiles.
