Are women obsessed with shoes?

I was watching a movie yesterday and a husband was saying that his wife has at least 100 pairs of shoes which she hasn't worn after she left the shop.
Is this is standard image of a women that they are obsessed with shoes? What do you think?

My kinda topic. I admit I LOVE shoes, not to impress anyone, to me shoes represent how i'm feeling...bright shoes for happy days, dark shoes for mellow days...No I dont have bad shoes..hehehe..I love unique shoes, shoes I probably won't see on someone else feet. I have quite a few pair of shoes but I can say I have worn just about all of them give or take a few pair here and there...

I don't think you can believe everything you see in movies! lol I don't have many pairs of shoes at all and certainly don't enjoy buying them. I have what I need and that's all.
