I live in india, bombay which is one of the most populated cities in the world and also has a vast number of communities that live together in peace and harmony. The issue is that there are a lot of rural indians that think of bombay as some dream land where they can make it big in life..... but the fact is it is becoming a hinderance to the cities infrastructure and now it clearly is getting very difficult. The issue of racisim turns up when the demand supply balance is disturbed and we subconsiously blame a particular sect or community of certian problems and people are very judgemental at the same time. i wonder wether if we are all subconsously racist ?

Ya, evryone is to a very considerable extent subconsciously racist. If a person is thrown in an unknown area, full of unknown people. The chances of he being associated first with another would be of similar or same race. Our mind subcnscioulsy attributes likeness to like people. race is a criteria for such identification

if u travel abroad alone, it would be very difficult to identify the good people from the bad. (i dnt like calling anyone bad because all react to what circumstances they face)
but here first to protect ones self we try and get ourselves to judge someone first and forget about racism entirely. the sad part is when were in our own habitat when we become racist we dont even bother to look beneath that race and even figure that were all human afterall. sometimes i wonder religion probably was created by a few madmen who just wanted to get authourity power etc by driving fear into the masses which continues today.

ofcourse, the fact that we all are humans and the barriers of race creed and religion exist not for harmony but for whimps of few madmen as u say is a fact today. I think we should all keep these issues behnind our back and trat evryone equally. But, the problem as I said earlier is that evryone somehow is a little biased. In many cases it could be race.

I don't think everyone is subconsiously racist. I know for a fact that I determine a person for who they are as a person, not as a group.

see this posibility exists when u get to know the person personally, what if one comes in in direct contact with a group of ppl which belong to a particular community where for example they cause trouble in ones life then would he develop a grudge against that particular community? i do not say that everyone is racist in any way but do cirumstances we come across make us feel tht way?

I believe that we are unconsciously raised to be subconsciously racist.

I feel that we are. While we might not physically attack someone or say/write hateful things about a certain group of people, we have all said or done things that were a little bit racist. We've all stereotyped people. One time me and my friend (we're both black) were sitting in the car listening to some beats that I had made, and I'll admit that they were too loud. And this white guy came up to the car and we thought he was going to tell us to turn it off, but he was actually a rapper and wanted to buy some beats.
