I have been with eBay since 1998. I have noticed that nearly all sellers are kind and will work with you. I will write a little bit for you. First, do your homework, sometimes items on eBay cost a lot more than the products in stores. I have noticed that several times with electronics. Second, review ALL (yes I mean ALL) the seller's feedback. See WHO left feedback (buyers versus sellers). Does the seller have any negative feedback? If so, how was it handled? eBay gives the option for people to respond to feedback, so does this seller respond to negative feedback? Is there many feedbacks that have nothing to do with the seller (or that could have been resolved without leaving a negative)? I have seen feedbacks such as "item arrived broken.", could this buyer have contacted the seller and eBay before leaving feedback? Third, READ the feedback. I have seen several times that people give a positive, but it is really a negative comment. Forth, look to see if the auction is a private auction. In private auctions, eBay members cannot contact buyers of auctions. So, sometimes sellers will do private auction so that they can get money. Fifth, what method of payments are accepted? If I see "cash only" I hardly ever bid on the item. The seller should offer more than cash. Normally I bid on items from sellers who are flexible with their payments. Sixth, never bid on someone who has feedback set to "private" (which means you cannot view their feedback). If you see a seller who has a PRIVATE auction and PRIVATE feedback, that should say "DO NOT BID ON ITEM". Seventh, look at the items PRICE and SHIPPING. The item may cost 1 cent, but the shipping is 50 USD, so you will end up paying 50.01 USD. I always add the shipping cost to my bid price. Regards, Pablo

I think that ebay is a very good site to sell and buy. You can find there a lot of things, usually with very good prices.

eBay is a great service for only certain people. There customer support is awfull until you are a powerseller. I am a power seller and they treat you like royalty. I even get health benifits. Get some free eBooks http://www.free-ebooks2go.com/login1.html

I think that eBay is a great service. It is great way to get paid for things that you no longer need. I also like finding hard to find items. Often you find the lowest price for an item on eBay. I recommend eBay often, when a person says that they can't find something that they are looking to buy.

I have been selling on ebay for the past 2 years and I give excellent service. I have bought a bunch of things myself and have never had any trouble. You do have to watch who you are buying things from. Find a seller with lots of positive feedback and shouldn't have any problems.

I've used ebay regularly for the past 4 years and had never had a negative experience with it. I buy mainly, and sell a little every now and then. It's easy to find a good deal for almost anything. But always read the sellers feedback to make sure customers before you were happy with their purchase and you should have no problem.

I both buy and sell on Ebay, and I LOVE IT!! You have to be VERY careful when you buy, and pay close attention to both the feedback #, as well as the percent. Also look at the negatives, was it retaliation, or did the person even TRY to fix the problem? Some people also use dropshippers, which I think can cause issues if you are a seller, and can cause a buyer to sometimes not get what they are wanting. As a seller, I ONLY post items that I have in stock, in my house, and available to personally take to the post office and ship.

From my perspective, ebay allows people to buy and sell pretty much anything. I've been able to find everything from my first house (which I had to later sell, because my family thought the neighborhood it was in would kill me), to pretty much every tool in my wood shop. Table saw, sanders, grinders, even trammel points (circle-makers that you can make any size you want). The main problem I've seen with ebay so far is communcations-wise, if you sel something it's impossible to tell if your buyer got the perfectly good item you sent, or if they're trying to hamstring ya (if you want to protect your good name, you've really gotta bend over backwards... and sometimes it tastes shady). The secondary problem I've noticed is that there just aren't enough assets for sale. Sure, people sell houses, businesses (which are usually just self-employed jobs) and precious metals and stones, but I bet ebay could make a second fortune by spinning-off a couple different areas (like real estate) into separate businesses with their own marketing identities, then specializing them better. For instance, because of NASD issues, you can't sell shares of a business, in order to expand it (sometimes people try, but they're usually removed pretty quickly). We're not children; we can read financial statements. We can tell when we're getting in on a good deal... and if not, mistakes that cost money are lessons learned.
