my husband and I have been watching our weight too. I have a lot sandwiches and homemade soups for lunch too. We do side salads a lot with our meals to help fill up.
I joined Weight watchers a few years ago and have been using counting the points again when I cook and eat. Have had a few days not so good with the holiday season LOL
but if we do it in moderation seems to work out ex. I like to buy the snack size candy bags and when I need Chocolate I can have a little bit :)
I didn't eat any of the bread with supper and didn't have the salsa and chips at lunch either.
But my girls love the salsa and chips -- gotta keep them happy with the meals too.

Since I'm in my office all day on Sundays, the family gets their own breakfast and lunch. For dinner tonight, I made pasta with shrimp alfredo sauce, steamed green beans, and we had warm deep dish apple pie for dessert (I didn't make the pie - I'm lucky to be able to buy a super delicious one nearby for about $6 and it's worth every penny LOL)

ROFL! That's GREAT! One wants one thing, one wants another... so you make something completely different! I need to follow your example hee hee

oh that shrimp alfredo sounds good.
Hubby wants alfredo with shrimp and my 14 yr old always wants crab meat instead of shrimp.
So I usually make it with chicken LOL or have the meat separate and they can add it to their sauce when they eat.
$6 for a good pie is a good deal. Hubby loves apple pie.

Since it's only morning I will post what I fixed yesterday.
Scrambled eggs, toast, coffee for breakfast.
Ham and Cheese sandwich, coffee, water for lunch.
Hamburger steak, baked potato, tossed salad, orange juice for dinner.
It doesn't look like the basic four food groups was used very well throughout the day does it? LOL

I sure hope that you where at the er for your job or an appointment and not a emergency.
Hope you are eating now or already have :)
Gotta hate it when you have to wait and eat for a appointment or dr. test.
