Dosn't everybody go to school to learn how to spell correctly? I am amazed at the ammount of misspellings I have been reading here, I know a typo is one thing but my gosh, so many misspellings concerns me about our education system, I wish I could make everyone learn how to spell for those who don't know how. Who wants to be perceived as ignorant? I know I make mistakes and I am not perfect but still at least I try to spell right? can anyone explain this?

I found it funny that a discussion about spelling has that many mistakes in it as well! Especially the very first word. It should be doesn't and amount is spelt with one m. Don't mean to be picky, but if you want to talk about spelling, make sure you have spelt correctly first!

I think a part of this is that there are a lot of users here that do not speak English as their first language. We have to be patient with them as they learn, and I have to give them credit for getting on here and trying. As for the U.S. citizens who can't spell, I would have to agree with you that it's a bad reflection on our education system... Maybe they're just too lazy to use spell check?

maybe bec lots of people are too lazy, but some also use to shortcut their words to save time.

maybe they are typeing to fast and they dont want to go back and correct it. I get lazy like that sometimes people know what I mean anyway when I do it.
