According to the news, a Chinese television company has been ordered to pay damanges amounting to $256 to a man who received more than three _thousand_ nuisance text messages after his mobile phone number was used in a police TV drama.
The man in question discovered that his phone number had been used in a series called "Chinese Police - September Storm". A villain in this particular episode of the program read the phone number out slowly, to allow another character to write it down.
The television production company has announced it made up the number from a staff member's birthday and did not iontend in any way to cause trouble.

This is too funny! Can you imagine how confused he must have been when he started to receive all of those messages? It seems that the producers of the show could have done something to be sure that they were not using an active number; then again, who would have thought about that? I think that he should have received much more that $256, just for the annoyance factor.

That is funny and goes to show, cutting corners never pays off in the end. If they had flipped a few bucks to pay some college kid to be their researcher, they would have known that number could not be used. Oh well, but they learned their lesson. I am shocked though it wasn't much more. Than a coupld hundred.
