A colleague told me he seldom gives presents to his fiance on her birthday..

I was surprised.
Reason for that: He didn't want to 'spoil' her with gifts on her birthday just in case in the future he's too busy to buy her a birthday present or accidentally forgot her birtday. But he said that he usually wishes her on her birthday.
So, what do you say? I know I'd be sad if that happens to me.

I thought of that too. Yeah, it's the giving part that's fun. My husband would actually take some time off from the office just to cook for me. Glad my hubby is not like him.

What a jerk, that man sounds like a selfish brat.
I am sorry, people have PDAs and calendars and so many ways not to forget, it is unacceptable.
Geez, I have gone to websites where i have ordered gifts months in advanced to be shipped on a specific date.

Oh my, what a selfish guy he is. Though i know he has he's own reasons for doing so, still it's just unacceptable to me. I think he ought to be more considerate of other people's feelings especially he's fiancee. I personally think this guy is lucky enough that his fiancee is still continuing her relationship with him and could stand his 'philosophy' towards birthday celebration.
How i wish that his loved ones would celebrate his birthday and make he feel special on the day. Until then hopefully would he realize that it is important to celebrate other people's birthday too, especially his loved ones.

I would be sad as well. Your fiance should be the first to give you anything on this special day. He must be a cheapskate. How unthoughtful.
