My husband loves tattoos and he wants me to get one but i wont. I would like to I guess but i cant get one where people will see because i have a bit of an image to keep up and what is tho point of getting one where nobody can see? Plus I dont want to be a 70 year old greand mother with a tattoo all wrinkled up on my body. My 60 year old dad has one on his arm that might have been cool in his day but now you can hardly tell what it was. All in all, yes i agree, it is not very becoming of a lady to have a tattoo.

I do not think tattoos look trashy on a woman. I think they look very nice on a woman but I think too many tattoos would not be very appealing. An excessive amount of tattoos on anyone is too much for me but one or two is not too bad. Tattoos in open areas could cause a person to have trouble finding a good job because many employers get turned off by them so it is better to have them in covered areas for that reason. Having tattoos does not lower someones class. I do not think less of a person because of having tattoos.

Personally i disagree tremendously. It ain't fair to say that you think tattoos are trashy. Tattoos are art , body art yes but art nonetheless. By saying they are trashy you are judging others and that part aint fair. I have 2 tattoos that mean something to me my arm band represents my daughters and my back piece is even more meaningful. They can both be hidden from plain site though when i am old and as you say EWW!

Sory, but I have to disagree. I think tattoed women are very sexy. Take, for example, Kat Von D...she's a famous tattoo artist, is covered in ink, and is scorching hot.

if a woman appreciates the form of art on which it started, for example our ancestors if you are native american indian, had forms of tatoos on them. I believe it is fine. I on the other hand want to get one only because my daughter was born with a birthmark the size of a half-dollar right on top of her belly button and i want for her to avoid feeling bad in the future that not many people have that at all, so i want to get a tattoo on my too, i never thought it would look good there - but would only do it so we could have something in common. I still have not gotten one but when i do i want to get an anchor...lol sort of like a sailor would have. but this anchor would be a metaphor of how my daughter has been the reason for me getting my life and priorities straightened out. She has been my anchor.

I would have to disagree with you. Women may get a tattoo to express themselves or represent something. My cousins recently got a Chinese symbol of their last name. Is that trashy? I don't think so. I have a tattoo of a daisy and another one...does this put me in a lower class? I honestly don't see how this would...LOL As our income has not changed.
I don't know what expressing oneself has to do with a lower class...

i have quite a few tattos, all of them tasteful and in places that i can hide if they arent appropriate for any job i have. oh and about the whole they look nasty when you get older..Cornhuskers lotion..works wonders for your tatoos..it keeps them nice and shiny.
tatoos are a personal choice and form of expression and should not be judged because of it.

This is my view of whats proper and that is a lady without tatoos. We all have our own morals and mine are to not destroy my body inside and out. I would never teach my children that this is acceptable just like my parents taught me not to write all over myself.

I am clean and I am proper, I think that you are very judgemental!
Just because I have tattoos doesnt make you or anyone else any better than me.

i used to think that, but it really depends on where the tattoo is located, i have a yellow and purple rose on my forearm wth my daughters name in it, its not really big but it stands out a little, tere ae das tat i love it and it looks great, but then there are dys (like my wedding) for exmple that i thought i looked trashy because it clashed with me dressingup.

april444, allow me to not agree with you.
They doesn't look nasty if are nice and really represents the person that wears them so even if you are 80 years old it's not a problem if you have them. Even if they look weird... from my point of view is a sign that you controlled your life, you did everything that you want, you had no regrets...
It's only my point of view... maybe I'm right, maybe I'm wrong...

Me personally, I think it depends on where and what. For example, the woman who doesn't think about what she exactly wants and wound up getting micky mouse tatooed on her bosom, she will look trashy when she gets older, better yet she will look trashy when she walks out. LOL But for me personally I have 2 tat's and I thought long and hard about where and what I wanted to be permanently tatooed on my body. So basically I think it depends on what the tatoo is of and where it is on your body.

I think tats on women can look absolutely FABULOUS!! and when all is said and done I'll have both arms done (though not sleeves) and my entire back adn I'm looking very forward to it!..If only I could come up with the money a little quicker LOL especially for my back which I'm figuring will run me a well over $1000....I need to find a HIGHLY trustworthy tattooist as well...especially for the portraits I want done of my kids...

I think tattos can be tastful, but again it depends on the tatto, the person, where, and what it is. My daughter has a very small blue mushroom with pink spots on her lower ankle. It's very light and seems to get lighter each year. It may be totally gone in 10-15 years. On the other hand, my son has what looks like a strand of barbed wire around his upper arm. It's very dark black. It doesn't seem to be going anywhere. They both look very nice, but neither would look on the other person.

I don't have tattoos but I think some women have them as a way of expressing themselves, or as a form of art. It really depends on who has the tattoo and who's looking at the tattoo. I would personally not like to have one because it could be unhygienic (invasive somehow), procedure could be uncomfortable, and I totally agree with you that the skin will become flaccid once the person got older so the tattoo would look "ewww.." Well, it could be erased before that time comes but then, why start having it when it's gonna be removed later on?
