Has anyone gotten high blood pressure from a medication?

I used to take Effexor until my blood pressure tested at 150 over 105. I had never had high blood pressure before. My doctor took my off of Effexor and put me on a new med a few months ago. My blood pressure is down a little but still high. How long will it ttake to normalize again? I am worried that this will be somewhat permanent because my parents both have high blood pressure.

High blood pressure is due to the built up of fats in your blood vessels, resulting in poor blood circulation. Shortage of blood to heart will trigger a heart attack; Shortage of blood to the brain results in stroke.
To bring down HBP, you need to cut down on oily stuff, do more exercise. If your triglycetrides level is high, you need to take omega 3.
