Spinner ?

I would respond to this discussion saying that, Anil Kumble is a fighter and a thinking bowler.Do you remember the day, when he was hit on the head, instead of that also he went to field with bandage around his head and bowled a great spell of bowling? This happened in west indies. He is a thinking cricketer because even on less turning tracks, he has the knack of taking wickets.

KUMBLE is the best spinner Indian team has ever produced. Spinner is not the one who turns the ball a lot.Its not difficult to get turn...........but spinner is a person who piches ball on same spot(most of times) and varies spin varies bounce,varies speed and flight....... Only spin is not enough to grab wickets of class players...speed ,bounce,flight every thing matters and most important the amount of spin.Even a hint of spin is enough to get an edge of bat..........................and KUMLE does that.

well if he did spin the ball the murlis and the warnes would have been far behind.well kumble is a great baller but has not been given the credits he really deserves in indian team.has really served team india

ya he just twists his wrist in such a way that the ball gets turn in test matches not in odis..

Jumbo is a great spinner of batsmens' heads and that's more important. Hey, give the man his due. He is more successful than his illustrious predecessors. He is India's leading wicket taker. He is genial, a consummate team man, has come back from injury trails successfully to serve his country time and again and he always puts a price on his wicket everytime he comes to bat. If the selectors kept their faith in him continuously whether he performed or not, he might have been the one to reach 700 test wickets first. Above everything I've told above, he is a good role model for children. What if he doesn't turn the ball? As long as you and I smile at the end of the day due to an Indian win, nothing else matters.

I too think tat Kumble doesnt turn da ball but he has got enough pace n bounce 2 deceive da batsmen

anil kumble also known as jumbo is the spin wizard of india who has not only shined in subcontinent but also left his mark in the entire world as a world class spinner ....he is the third most wicket taking spinner of all times. one word that can be used for kumble is that he is relentless.. he comes on and on and on until the batsman forces an error on himself...his strength is not spinning the ball 4 stumps wide like murali or warne but he is accurate in line and length and got subtle variation s in pace which is every batter's night mare his flipper is a unique ball. due to his height he extracts a lot of turn thus catching the batsman in jeopardy.you can drop a kerchief on the pitch and he can go on bowling on and on on the cloth again and again thats kumble for you our own jumbo the great the karantaka veggie,may he go on and become the highest wicket taker in international matches..

kumble's main weapon the bounce. and not turn. ya he can bounce the hell out of the batsman even if he is a spinner he was never a turner of the ball. and tendulkar weapon is the turn and variation. kumble can be a lil dumb at times ulike sachin who i most intelligent spinner and can get any set batsman. both are good but i like tendukar more. as abowler

he is great bowler instead of spinner. did u saw his line and length of the bowl.

i dont think he can spin the ball in that pace, we all know he got his majority of wickets by LBW,majority of the times the pace is done the trick for him,as far as i am concerned the ball that skids after pitching is his main weapon,he is guy who can rip through the middle order and lower order of any team.......hope he wil do the same job for india in world cup also
