first backup your important files from c(root) drive. now try to restore your system to some earlier days when there was no problem. if the problem would not be solved then format it.

to get rid of spyware pls use spybot & destroy get it at http://www.spybot.info install and update before start scanning also install superantispyware get it at http://www.superantispyware.com update it before scan. Install an reliable antivirus for example avast antivirus, get it at http://www.avast.com p/s: if you already tried scanned many times and the problem still there - windows running slow. Here is few steps that you should do, please do defregment windows, or u can get some defragment tool which i suggest is AusLogics Disk Defrag you can get it at http://www.auslogics.com/disk-defrag which is free, and nice. Or you can even purchase PerfectDisk or O&O defrag at http://www.oo-software.com

Sounds like you may need an anti-virus program. I use AVG (free edition) and it works very well for me. You can get it at www.download.com
