hi,recent studies reveal and confirm that hen is the first one.its happened due to mutation and evolution theory.the egg of another bird gave chicken after hatch the egg from another bird.so after grown the chicken ,it lays egg again and so on developed chicken.this was proposed by senior scientists and research scholars.

Which studies are you talking about? Sorry for the clarification but mutation and evolution are two different things. Unless you could prove it otherwise.

Biblically speaking it is the chiken(hen and rooster).
Scientifically speaking it would have been the chicken as the egg would not have been produced without the combination of the egg cell and the sperm cell from the mother and father chickens (hen and rooster).
But who would know really, we just speculate and study remnants of historic remains to explain things.

Every attempt tp answer that question only leads to another question. If the chicken came first, then didn't it hatch from an egg? And if the egg came first, then wasn't it laid by a chicken? Scientists believe that chickens were bred from Red Jungle Fowls more than 89,000 years ago in the region now divided into Thialand and Vietnam.People bred chickens first just for cockfighten, then later for eggs and meat.
So the first offical "chicken" pecked his way out of an egg laid by a bird who was not-quite-a-chicken.Depending on how you look at it,the egg or the wild chicken came first.
Now there is still the question of where the egg came from?
Scientist also beleive eggs are handy miniture incubaters of life, that evolved more than one billion years ago,in the oceans of earth. When land animals evolved, their eggs had a tough covering to retain moistureon dry land. The first land egg predated chickens by about 249,992,000 years. So the egg could be the answer to the old riddle. But here is another. The chicken came after the bird. the bird came after the dinosour, the dinosour came after the egg.And the egg came long after the first single-celled bacteria, the prokaryotes, evolved in the oceans, some billions of years ago.

the egg had to come first. the dinosaurs laid eggs long before chickens ever roamed the earth.

Oh yeah? Well I say it was the rooster, then the chicken. LOL
It’s just like using Adam and Eve, it was the male created first, so wouldn't it be the same for poultry? You know like in that old saying, "what's good for the goose is good for the gander." :-)
