Punishment to Students.......Good or Bad ?????

I think it is alright for teachers to punish the students once in a while as long as they don't go beyond what's acceptable. A "sit on the air" or other form of punishment that will not hurt the student much physically or emotionally will be enough. But if they hit the students or hurt them physically or abuse them orally, I think that's over the edge. There should always be a limit to the punishment they give. It is also better to counsel the students at the same time to make them understand why they are being punished.

Not far from my place a teacher made a cut on a 7 yrs old student tounge with a scissor, because he was too noisy.... I think is horible... teacher have to teach not to execute punishment.. in paticular cases is parent's job to work with teacher to find solutions...

listen,,,,children do wrong things but it depends how to make thier mistakes correct,,,, 1. if they hav done a small mistake,,,then we can just talk to them 2. if they hav done A BIG MISTAKE,,,THEN PUNISHING IS REQUIRED,,,If not given then it will change there behaviour forever.... so 1st look at the situation.....then decide

well i think that punishment for the student is very bad.......its so nonsence.....giving punishment dont make student to do good...it effect the students mentality.....so it sucks

i believe a teacher is someone who has to teach and not punish.... if the kids repeat the mistake again... we need to counsel them.... punishment, insulting in front of other are never a solution....

it depend on the situation....

When i was i student i hated punishment but as i teacher if i have to say then it may depend upon how naughty da student is!!!
