You are totally right, there are no bad dogs...just bad owners because people who dond care about their training, otherwise they end up with a very powerfull and an overly aggressive dog. And they require owners who can handle their massive size and strong body.

The best advice you can give someone considering a Rotti is this.....DO NOT...ABSOLutely DO NOT....get a Rotti unless you are willing to put a very large amount of time and love and energy into training and continually retraining your baby. They are sweet, attentive, loving, protective, headstrong...it goes on and on. Mr Rotti is wonderful, she behaves very well, is wonderful with my baby and protects our home. That said she is professionally trained and even so will have to be reminded from time to time that she does not always get her way. They are curious and will get into mischief from time to time. They do like to test your patience and can occasionally have to be reminded that they are not the Alpha in the house. I don't mean this in a bad way. I mean that because of their strong personality and amazing curiosity they will test you. If you become a lazy owner and let them get away with it, they will try to be dominant if they think you will let them get a way wit it. So, to close, owning a Rotti can be one the most rewarding loving experiences of your life...but they are not for everyone. If you are looking for a low maintenane dog that will just lay on the floor with little interaction, pick something else.

There are no bad dogs, just bad owners... I agree with that 100%. We have a very well socilized 2 yr old male Rottie, he is great with everyone. He is scarey looking to people when he barks at them, however as soon as I open the door he pays very little attention, lets them in no problem, does not jump on people. I do have to say though he is naughty in the sense he can not be trusted in the house alone with out getting into stuff, but he is still young.

NOOOOOO, NOT AT ALL. INFACT I AGREE WITH YOU THAT ITS JUST BAD OWNERS.i had so much of discussion on that subject but i dont know why people are sooo afraid of such a nice dog and say bad about it. what i personally think is that the people who are use to keep showy dogs like pommerian and all, must be having that opinion. me nad my hubby just love this breed.when he was in mexico he was having one and we have loaded its pic. too.he is sooooo cute , and gives such an innocent look at times. i just cant hear people saying such a marvellous dog a bad dog or watever.........it is large, powerful and robust but thats its quality ,if it is not such ,then its not a ROTTWEILER.the eyes are such beautiful, warm and dark brownish in color.they look soo coool .if you are a responsible owner and your dog is well-trained and socialized then it can be very reliable, alert and a very loving dog as well as a companion too.i just can t read or hear anybody saying it bad.infact i wanna write soooooo much about it.just because of some irresponsible owners who donno how to train their dogs make others force to make such an opinion for such a good dog. IT IS A VERY GOOOOOOOD DOG.
