I think you could put it into a category of an epic that has everything in it - Romance, deceit, war, action, emotions, human relations, endeveour..everything. Great book and Vieien Leigh made the perfect Scarlett O'Hara to Clark Gable's Rhett Butler inn the movie of the same name,

It is one of those books that has a little bit of everything in it. It's one that could easily be filed away under which ever the person reading it at the time feels it belongs. I would put it under Romance or Drama since it does deal with so much interaction between the people more so then the action of the war.

It has everything. It never stops for a second, the book just keeps going and going. That is what makes it great. Hard to find books today that has that from the first page to the last.

I think that it probably could fit into all of those categories. However, i would call it a romance novel personally, but that is because I am most interested in the aspect of the romance involved in the story. I really am a big fan of romance in books, tv, movies, you name it. So I would like to classify this book as a romance novel, if I had the choice. ^_^

It is always going to be known as a romance novel, but indeed it is war and drama there as well.
