Give my friend a solution

One of my friend borrowed some money from his cousine,while repaying it his cousine asked him to pay through cheque,as per that my friend gave him one month post dated cheque,before that date my friend gave him the money in cash made a mistake of not collecting the cheque on the belife that cousine will not misuse it,but that cousine has put the cheque to the bank which was obviously bounced.Now he is thretening my friend that my friend should pay him again or he will file criminal case against him now what should my friend do? please give some solution

this is sad indeed! i think, your friend intimate the his bank and take away the cheque from his cousin and then only repay him in cash. lest he can redeposit the cheque after 1 month but since the cousin is of nasty type it's always advisable to collect back the cheque from him and then to repay him by cash. in this way he cannot suit file in court against your friend.
next time your friend should be more wise and prudent regarding money matters. trust me, it's the root of all evils.

thanx mimpi,the problem is cheque is with the cousine he is not ready to give it unless in substitute to money friend is already in trap.We have asked the advice of a lawyer,lets see what best can be done.thanx for the advice.
