What would you do if you find someone stealing in a shop?

I would make it well known that this person is stealing. This is why we get charged higher prices for things. We have to make up for what others are taking from the store. Why are you asking others if it is correct? Are you second guessing your decision? How did it make you feel in your situation? I am not saying I would put myself in danger but I would definetly do something.

well first of all, if it happens to be your shop, you'll probably ask him to return what he took or call the police or ask him what's in his bag. That's the best thing to do that is if you own the shop. But if you happen to be a customer as well I think it's better to approach maybe a salesman discreetly and tell the salesman or security to check on his bag. This way, you can get yourseif out of trouble because if you tell someone and he finds out that you told someone, he might wait for you outside of the shop and get back at you.

You have not mentioned how did you deal with the situation and what was the quantum of stealing. There are only two alternatives. Neglect the act and go your way, or catch the thief and hand him over either to the shopkeeper or the police. These guys are so shameless that even if you try to help them, they would not change their ways. Sometimes they belong to a larger gang. So it depends on the instant situation and the state of our own mind at the time. Opening of work-houses is one option for them.

because i am too little to fight anyone, i would just give the alarm. no way would let him do that. just imagine he would be stealing from you.

if I at all come across this situation in my life i would try to stop the person who is stealing and give him good kickings and make him regret for the mistake that he did

i would complain to the shopkeeper and make sure that no one steals in front of me coz i hate lying and stealing

I will look how strong the person is. If he is too strong, I will just pretend that nothing had happened. If he is weak and with no weapons, then I will get the attention of all, and catch him and be a hero!!
