My phone sucks

We have really bad phone karma - anyone have a good cordless phone that has lasted more than 6 months? It seems that I'm buying one twice a year now, and it's time for a new one - we bought a more expensive one last time, but it's crapping out. Any ideas???? Thanks so much!
