I love horses. I think that they are the most beautiful animal there is. They are very intelligent and when you get to know a horse personally [I mean spend time with it, getting to know it], then you get to see what kind of personality that they have. I mean every horse has a different personality and its own little quirks. Years ago, the one horse that I had was very sweet and could be depended on too but she was a wee bit bad-tempered when it came to other horses. She did NOT like to be bothered by them. She would get a little bit testy and squeal and try to kick them. But really, she was so dependable that a child could safely ride her. But that was Moonie, she did not like to be bothered. I have noticed that people are afraid of horses unless they have had some experience with them. I think it's because horses are so big. Horses can be scary when they move around simply because they are so large. That's been my experience anyway. The people were afraid because they weren't familiar with horses and the horse was a large unfamiliar animal. After they got to know the horse, the fear sort of went away.

I used to ride horse-driven carriages called "kalesa" as our "school bus" to school in our elementary days, that is quite safe since they get tied around a cart and half blind-folded. People are scared of horses for their temper, I heard people being kicked by horses, an equistrian lamed due to being dragged by her own horse, they say that horses should first be walked around for at least half an hour before riding them or else they get mad and throw you out of their back. It personally think horses are nice, it's their shoes that I'm worried about :)

I think they really have never been close to a horse or they got throwed at one time and never tried again Horses know when you are scared and for some darn reason they will work that person lol

People are afraid of other people, places, and things that they do not have contact with in their daily life. Most people do not go up to horses very often and do not touch them. If people could be with horses every day and see how loving and intelligent horses can be, then perhaps people would not fear horses.

We have the tendency to attach certain type of behaviour to animal names. If you betray some one's trust , you are a "snake",if you tell on someone it makes you a "rat" If you are afraid you are a "chicken" if some one considers you worthless the to him you are a "magget".If you are .promiscuous then you are a "dog" ,etc. I guess it is because using those names sets the person apart from the rest of the people, thus diminishing the person's importance and putting them in the category of an animal.Plus remember biologically we are animals.
