I just apologised to one of my friends for not understanding a posting. When it comes to Mylot money and what can be done with it, we are DEFINETLY not all on the same page. So in the interest of understanding, I'd like to ask three questions regarding costs of living. How much would these three things cost in your country or area?
1) Rent or mortgage for a small house or a 2 bedroom condo/apartment
2) No frills cost of food & toiletries for 2 people for 1 week
3)Cost of medium plain coffee & 1 newspaper
PLEASE don't give YOUR exact costs. Just the average where you are......Give it in whatever currency you use (dollars, pounds euros, rupees etc).....NB I'm asking about Cost of living and not STANDARD of living. What is the cost of these things for a basic middle class person in your neck of the woods....I'll go first:
1) Rent or Mortgage $1,200 - 1,400 per month
2) Food & Toiletries for Two - $85.00-$100.00 per Week
3) Newspaper & Coffee - $1.29 (Acme coffee + Phila. paper) - $2.75 (NY Times & Starbucks Coffee)
Thank You!

I am in the UK, but posted these in dollars as right now it is about 2 dollars to £1 so it's easy!
1) US$1300-3000/month (To buy a 1 room bedsit measuring 11'x12' costs US$200,000)
2) US$8-10
3) US$80-100 (guessing because I am not middle class yet! But I guess they are a bit pickier than buying "cheapest only" all the time)
I live in an expensive corner of the UK as it is a tourist town that rich people love to have 2nd homes in.

That's the whole point...If you can get the basics for less money then YOUR mylot money goes a lot further...What I got last month on Mylot will pay for about three NY times newspapers and three cups of Starbucks. It's hard for me coming from that perspective to understand how people can think of Mylot as even a part time job.

Hey there money is money but my money is worth more to me because I am Canadian and get paid in US funds. We have about an 8% difference in my favor. So to me money isn't just money if it is US currency. I make more money.
It's so cool being a Canadian.

In my little village which is about 25 miles from Dublin
(1)rent for a small house would be in the region of €1,000 - €1,200 per month (a mortgage would be considerably higher - apprixiamately €2,500 per mth).
(2) food & Toiletries for Two - €100.00-€110.00 per Week
(3) Newspaper & Coffee - €15 per week.
Fodd and toiletries might be a little less in the capital, but rent and mortgages would double.

Thank You. I figured around Dublin would be one of the more expensive places. Thanks also for giving the amounts in a general way. I don't think people are reading the posting. I don't want their exact monthly payments -I'd never ask that. I hope I get a few answers from areas where folks seem most interested in the money here. I think it would put things in perspective.

Well, my apartment is a one bedroom and it's rather nice. It's 850 square feet with a fireplace, dishwasher, washer/drier & 2 balconies, it costs me $749/mo.
2) My boyfriend & I spend $100/wk on groceries
3) Newspaper is 50 cents on Sunday & a quarter on Weekdays, cofee (medium) around $1.50, so $2 for all
Now im not sure what you mean with your question, with the whole mylot money & what can be done with it. The reason I am doing mylot is because myboyfriend and I have lost a car. Sense we are down to one car only one of us can work with our situation. We both also had to drop out of college, this is the only way I can make money. Im trying everything I can. So my money however small or big I can get up to is toward groceries.

The point is that the money is relative to what it can do in your area. I'm guessing (but not sure. just trying to learn) that it is enough in some areas to be considered a part time job which it isn't in the USA. Otherwise why would so many people be so interested in Mylot earnings?
Believe me I can relate to the car situation. I've been there. Best of kLuck.

Again sorry for responding late lol!!!
Mylot earnings is not really that worth here in the philippines for apartment here costs around $ 100, Food and toiletries costs around $180 and newspaper and coffe costs around $.50
What value to me really is the friendship I gain and the knowledge that I learned and that for me is priceless.
Earnings here is a bonus to me. I sign in on mylot not for money alone but to learn as well and be more of myself and discover my inner capabilities as a person and a as a individual.

I have been amazed by this as well, read a post of a girl that actually could cover ALOT with the money she makes here while for me it covers almost nothing at all.
1. probably around $600 (4100 SEK) and that is all rent for the apartment
2. Around $200 (around 1500 SEK) at the least.
3. $3-$4 dollars (25 SEK)
Sweden is really not cheap =)

I understand what you are saying. For me, My mylot money may buy a new shirt for my little boy (from Walmart) but for someone else in another country it could buy groceries (maybe) Well Here in Oklahoma a 2 bedroom rents for 500-700 a month, food for two a week problably 75.00, and a newspaper and a coffee I could get for 1.50.

If I were here for the money I would be fighting a losing battle since I do not make nearly enough to pay for my internet connection. I am rewarded mostly in the friendships that I have made here. As for the other things;
I would estimate the average rent or mortgage to be around $5-600 in this area. I can only give an estimate since I have not recently checked into either.
Food and toiletries for two would probably cost around $100. Again, this is an estimate since I am shopping for six and make my purchases in larger quantities.
I am not sure about the coffee and newspaper since I do not buy either, but my guess would be that it would be somewhere close to yours if not a little lower.
Since I live in a rural community, our prices are probably a bit lower than they are in larger areas. Sorry I can only give estimates, but to the best of my knowledge, these are probably fairly close.

This wouldn't be considered a job where I live, not even a second or third job. I'm doing it for fun with a side benefit a little pocket money to spend on ebay. :)
As for cost of living here please don't fall out of your chairs upon reading this. A home mtg around here can range from $2,500 to $5,000 a month a 2bed rental $750 to $1,400 per month, food and toiletries for 2 approx $150 maybe a little higher if things aren't on sale. (I'm estmating based on what I spend for family of 5 trying to break it down) I don't purchase the newspaper as Oldbuddy said I get it for free on line, as for coffe I only drink one kind and it's a Starbucks one, but I think that I see it in the gas station convenience stores for med plain about $1.49 and the newspaper is $.75 during the week and $1.50 on Sundays. Cost of living here is ridiculous. :)

Rent or mortgate in my area is about $850. Food and toiletries about 125.00 if you like to eat out ... the point is Mylot is purely for entertainment. I dont see how anyone can say they really make any money. It kind of pays for the electricity on the computer maybe.
