prozac addiction

why do people tend to abuse prozac? is it really that addictive? i heard some who can't even last a day without having to swallow one. i haven't had one in my life but this drug really interests me. is this like the drug most people abuse?

i do not think it is the case of only prozac, depends on what a person is addicted to.

I have never, ever heard of Prozac addiction. I cannot go without my Prozac - but it is not withdrawal that casues it, it is a return of the symptoms that Prozac alleviates.

I'm new on this site and noticed this post. I have taken Prozac off and on for 10 years. There have been times when I just decided not to take it anymore. I have gone as much as a year without taking it. There was never a craving for it. Believe me I know what addiction is and kicking it. Prozac is not addictive. I take it for depression. Depression is my problem and prozac helps me with it.
