I have seen many advertisments for a salad spinner. My question is are they realyl worth the money?

I have one and it definitely works. It is much better than having to dry the lettuce with tea towel. It only cost a couple of euros, which is very cheap, and the bowl and lid come in handy for storing food. I wouldn't be without one, especially in Summer when we eat lots of salads.

Salad Spinner - I find Salad Spinners time saving and very effective. I don't want to be without one.
I have a cheap one which I bought from an Asian shop - I think it cost me AUD$5. I've had it for at least 6 years and I love it! It has a handle that you turn rather than string that you pull like some do. I wash the lettuce and put it in the inner basket and spin for about ten seconds and it's ready! I find it very effective. I thoroughly recommend them, though I haven't had to put out a lot of money for one.

I got one of those about 12 years ago. I thought they were so cool. They did work, but the funny thing is, it seemed once I had it, I did not really use it. I used it maybe 5 times, and then ended up washing my lettuce the regular way. I think I ended up donating it to my favorite charity thrift shop.
