How Many FireWire Devices Do You Have?

I do not possess any firewire devices. The technology had a brief popularity due to the data transfer speed, but it was caught up very quickly by USB2 and companies quickly changed to this as a viable alternative. It is unlikely that there are many firewire devices still on sale apart from maybe a few older digital cameras, so the only devices in use will be those which were purchased prior to USB2.
Surprisingly many new laptops appear to offer firewire ports, which seems a little odd.

That is not true. Firewire is superior to USB, especially for hard drives.
