A new language is emerging and it is mostly used in SMS. It sounds like english but spelling is different, some meanings are even difficult to decipher. It took me a while before I figured out what is the word gr8st, finally I found out it meant "greatest" I wonder what's the best name for it. Any suggestion? is cellphish good enough?

It sounds like a version of phonetics where you spell the word as it sounds.Sort of like a short-cut english?
About 10 years ago in canada the school system was encouraging the students to learn to write that way.

I don't exactly think and would say that it is a new language just a new dialect, which is a different way of speaking. The words are cut up and pasted in places that make no since at all but that's what happens when new generations evolve. Each generations tries to be different than the previous and that's how new things are invented and come to play.
