i think this greatly depends on how much space you have at home and also how much time you can spend for the dog. cause each breed has specific requirements that you have to meet, like walking, grooming etc etc
but personally though i like the bigger ones, it's assuring sometimes to have a big guard dog at your side

I like big dogs best. I have 4 large to giant breed dogs and they are wonderful pets and guardians. I have had a small dog once, he was really sweet until you tried to pick him up and then he'd try to bite. My husband can pick up any of our big dogs and they'll just lick his hands. The one little dog had more energy than all 4 of my big ones together!

I prefer small dogs quite honestly. I mean do not get me wrong.. I do love all dogs! I think they are all great! But I guess I have a preference of small dogs because.. I grew up with having a small dog all of my life so that size has grown on me. Some of the reasons behind this is because.. I love how you are able to hold & carry small dogs. I as well love how a small dog will be more than happy to sit on your lap & keep you company.
I as well find that the majority of small dogs will eat very little in comparison to a big dog. I know that it is perfect for us because a big bag of dog food will last our dog two weeks or longer.. So it makes it easier on us so we're not always having to go & pick up dog food.. And it's relatively a lot cheaper.. I as well find smaller dogs easier to have because I find large dogs to be harder to deal with compared to small dogs. I like as well if one was to live in an apartment.. That a small dog would be easier to have.. They'd accept the dog in.. If I was to have a large dog they probably won't take us.. Which is sad that they do this but they do.. I think that would be something that would be difficult for me to deal with if I had to have this be one of my number one concerns..
I think it all depends also where a person lives. I mean if you live in an apartment it would be difficult for one to have a big dog within the house. So most definitely most people would go with a small dog. But sometimes if you have a big back yard some people would think a big dog would be better to have since there is so much more room then.
I know that we live in a house.. And we have a Jack Russell. And I find having a back yard is perfect for her because she has a lot of room to get some form of exercise. I know if we we're to have a much bigger dog that we'd have to build a much bigger fence since the one we have currently.. Is just perfect for our little Jack Russell.
In conclusion.. Both big dogs & small dogs have there advantages & disadvantages. But still no matter what size the dog is I still love each & everyone of them that we're put on this earth. As I think every dog out there has very beautiful traits or personality that stands out to all of us at one point or another! . . Either way no matter what size a dog is.. All of them are good friends, as well as companions who one would become quite fond of. All dogs are beautiful in there own ways in my humble opinion.

I like all dogs but both of mine are smaller breeds. I have a jack russell and a MIn pin/chihuahua mix. You wouldn't really know that my Jack was little though since he really acts like a big dog all the way.

I like big dogs better, I'm afraid that I'll accidentally crush little dogs :P.

I love all types of dogs. Though I have a fondess for little dogs. If I had the chance I'd love a big and little dog. The best of both worlds.

I used to prefer big dogs, it was what I grew up with. However that changed when I got a shih-tzu. He was wonderful. I had him for 10 years and I'd have another in a heart beat if I could. Right now we have a collie and it's hard at times due to her size. To bathe her in particular. The shih-tzu I could wash easily, the collie is a lot harder. Maybe in time I'll get another one but for now I have her and several cats.

I like little dogs. I would want a dog that is easier and cleaner to take care of, and most important I like dogs who can snuggle up on my lap or the chair next to me. Who wants an 80 lb. dog on their lap?
