if yo know the process of hibernation then only you can make conclusion , when you put your pc on hibernate , all the current programs with their current status is save in the HDD (same as you save data/songs/software/documents), and the power of pc is completely off, when you boot your pc again ,these things are directly activated by default (similar to reading documents from hdd, or similar to loading software on ram) so , if you perform fragmentations in 2 or 3 months there is no problem at all , i am using this feature on my laptop from past 5 years, i dont have any problem and i know it wont give me any problem ,

I don't think hibernating your system affects the system. It's just a process of putting your running programs plus the operating system in the hard drive. This must be some process of serializing the programs in a form that windows can bring it back to the same running state. But just in case you have some faulty parograms which leaks memory than i might cause you some problem, over using the system memory. So the final recommendation would be to restart the PC once in while.

Yes it affects your system it is better to shut off the computer for a while so that you get rid of anything still in the RAM and also to cut off the power, hibernating slows your computer after a while and it reserves a big disk space for this action

hibernating is should be the same when u leave your computer alive .... since it only store all your memory to your hdd ... so the "refreshness" of your windows system is the same when last time you hibernating .. IMHO ...

Hibernating feature is an attractive feature that microsoft has developed well i think it is not harmful to the pc but it is a simple option that we can use when we are at work for a short period, this option is for the people who don't want to shut down their system when they are out for a short break, But if u know that u r going to take 3 to 4 hours of break it is better to shut down the pc
