Ugh! Annoying coworker rant

We've all had them, that coworker that just sets your teeth on edge. The person that makes you take the long way back to your desk. The person that you have nightmares about.
I used to work with a man who would clip his fingernails at his desk everyday. He would let the clippings fly all over the office. It was so disgusting.
Another coworker worked in the cube next to me. He was a throat-clearer. All. Day. Long. It was especially nasty in the morning, as he would be louder and more phlegmy than later in the day.
Then, there's the person that sits and chats on the phone all day or surfs the internet and doesn't get her work done....so you do the work of two people. Of course, she's the first one to take credit for the work being done.
Feel free to add your rant here.

A coworker is one of the main reasons I left my last job. She was a know it all old bitty, nose stuck up in the air. I really did'nt like her at all and never understood why the others kissed her butt. She was always so mean to everyone, she would even tell the boss what she was going to do it was like she was blackmailing him with something so of course she always got the best jobs. It makes me mad just to think about it. At least she no longer works there and maybe I will go back.

I quit a job because of a coworker too. they never did their work and I had to do their's and mine. Plus I was always apologizing to the customers for this coworker's rude attitude.

I quit one job because I worked in an office with two women who would ridicule everyone who came into the office as soon as they went back out the door. They would just rip them to shreds. I knew that they were probably doing the same thing to me when I went to lunch. I just couldn't stand the negative atmosphere after about a month and quit. It was good money, but not good enough to put up with that.

Been there - Done that! I have felt like saying "get busy!" but I would keep my cool and say nothing. Seems it bothered me worse when i was so busy and behind myself that I could have really used the help. They never seem to get fired or even jumped onto. They are usually the bosses pet! Yep, been there - done that

I work in a call centre, and I have a co-worker who insists on talking to me while I'm trying to listen to somebody on the phone. He will get quite pointed about trying to get my attention, even though he is interrupting. When I get off the phone, I always say, "I'm WORKING." but it doesn't slow him down one little bit.
He always wants to talk to me whenever he gets an idea about something that he wants or something that is bothering him - and he'll repeat the same stuff every single day until I want to strangle him to make him drop it.

I have worked with people like that but my wife wins the prize here, she works with a ladie that it's always about her and it grates. They have been working together for 25 years or a little longer. I would have strangled her by now.

I have worked with two people that I hope I never work with again. One of them all she did a day long is complain about everything we did inventory and she hated everything nothing was ever right,it was to cold,to hot,not enough work, too much work, she just went on and on all day non stop.No one wanted her on their team, amd hated it when she had to go on overnights with their team. The other one was always saying how better she was than everyone else, and that she was the only one on the team that was worth anything, and yes she would actually tell us this. There are people that you have to deal with that annoys you everywhere you go though.

Some of them are pretty funny. I really think the only way to put up with these people is to keep a sense of humor about it. Either that, or wait for the old karma to bite them in the butt.

Oh BOy!!!
You should all have our boss!!
He is just one Grade up from the two of us, but he will come into our office, and spout all sort of nonesense, we will not listen!!
He has one mouth and two ears, and the only thing he uses is the mouth!!
And he keeps on and on!!
Lectures!!
If it was for a discussion, we would listen, but it is one way all the time!!!
Ouch!!!!
Get out of my office!

Well thank goodness I have always had good coworkers .. always had folks that work together to get the work done .. nice pleasant folks that you can have a laugh with and get through the workday quickly ..
You do sound rather over sensitive to your fellow workers foibles .. of course if there is a real problem then you need to enlist the help of your managers ..
Maybe a polite word with your coworkers would make your life easier .. but be sure that you have no 'bad habits' that they might not enjoy

Ohhh Gotta love this post...Co-workers, Well I sit in cubicles and I could be talking to someone in My cubicle and she will holla over and give her input to the point we all had to just tell her to mind her business Noisy neighbor!!! After a couple months she got another job...WHEW...
I have a co-worker that sits at her desk and talk about loosing weight(might I add after a year still talking about it),talks about fashion, and whats going on for the weekend for about 2 hours a day, and NEVER do anything. then take off work when there is a massive deadline and mess everyone work up...NoBody like her...
On a lighter note (what our cube looks forward to in the hearing in the mornings)
There is a lady who goes over to kiss the cube member across from me on the cheek everymorning and talk babytalk (I think she aint got it all up top, she is a older lady)...I could hear them just going off every morning after she leaves and never tells the lady they don't like it..lol..My work place is sooo funny at times :)

I am sorry that you've worked with some frustrating people *laugh* I can understand the plight of that poor throat-clearer, however. I have that problem in the winter sometimes where I just cannot stop clearing my throat because it bothers me so much. The fingernail guy is a bit gross, lol *laugh*
I really haven't worked outside of online work, but I've had some annoying experiences online. I just don't know if I could say that they were with co-workers exactly. *laugh*

I have a coworker who wants to bring her religion into every decision that is made. Mind you, I have nothing against religion...I have one myself! But,there are times when the decision at hand DOESN'T INVOLVE YOU or your religion! When asked her opinion on the matter at hand (even if it is which new stethescope we should buy for the lab) she will begin her answer with, "Well, I am a Christian, and therefore I belive...." The hair on my neck stands up...and I am tempted to defy my own religious beliefs and choke her!!!

mixed emotions we can experinece having that can of coworkers. gosh it's very nasty to see..lol!you cannot even continue your work if you hear coughing, talking to phones a long time..it can ruined your day and time.you are focused on your work but look at them,,some talking and not attending on their works, some coughing and some are very demanding.ryt away you you do their works especially if you have deadlines to finish that works.the better way for that is just focus on your work mind your own busines and let them do whatever they wnat to do.

Rachel started working in my office about a month after I did. She had lied on her resume so everybody thought that she knew what she was doing, but she didn't. I ended up having to do all of her work for her which really only bothered me a little bit. One day Rachel decided that she would try to make herself look better in front of our boss. He came into our office and she turned and looked at me and said "I don't know why you think you can get away with not doing any work". I went off on her and was fired, but it was pretty close to being worth it. I wanted to punch her in the face.

It seems like anywhere you work there is ALWAYS that ONE who wants to keep trouble brewing. I currently work from home, but one of my co workers is a very self centered demanding whiney individual. She is a control freak and if she doesn't get her way, there is hell to pay. Fortunately, for me, I am her equal as far as my position with this company, so I do not have to put up with her nonsense. Just this week she went too far on something and now I have informed my boss that I will not be communicating with this person except to pass her notes at shift change through instant messenger. These people just make things unhappy for everyone. The funny thing is, they always are the HARDEST to get rid of.

Wow you really had some winners to work with didn't you. LOL I've had a few in the past but what can you do. I had one woman that I had to work closely with who would talk behind everyones back. No matter who came to talk to her when they left she had something to say about them. She was such a gossip. I can't stand two faced people, can you tell??? But really other then that I worked with some pretty good people. It's so important to like who you are with cause really you see them more then you do your whole family.

I have this officemate who are bitter to almost everyone. As my superior she is not approachable because she is busy chatting about gossips and politics around the office, she even has annoying nicknames to some of my officemates. When this person should take her break for one hour, she never comeback to log in for almost 4 hours and she had done this for several times. I don't know if she is reprimanded about this and the worst thing is she got promoted from team leader to senior team leader.

I used to have a coworker who is older and she thinks she's more senior because she's been in the company for more than 8 years. She's a type of person that looks into seniority. In those days I was just a new kid in the company so she keeps on throwing me jobs that are meant for her. Like everyday I have more paperwork than her. But that experience taught me a lot of things. Because I'm doing most of her job so in the process I learn a lot of things way above my usual position.
