HAs anyone started a portfolio on sharebuilder.com ? Have you made much money investing in their porfolio's? I started a relatively aggressive portfolio and invest 50 dollars a month. Just started though so don't have any time into it. thanks for your input.

I first started investing through sharebuilder and it's great for dollar cost averaging, but if you're interested in making daily trades I'd move to scottrade b/c they only charge $7 per real time trade. I keep a blog on finances, usually focused on online investing. Here it is if you wish to parooze http://piggybankfinances.blogspot.com/

i do have a sharebuilder account. i have a couple of etf's that they recommended to me. i stopped investing monthly, and mostly buy and sell short term. Its important to keep up with the market daily. i've learned alot about stocks since i invested with sharebuilder. Bloomberg in the morning is a great way to learn about companies, and earnings. I love the stock market... its like a big gamble, but i learned if you buy some books, and read the wall street journal, it helps.

If there is a particular stock you're interested in, and you're a buy and hold type investor, check and see if the company has a direct stock investment program. You can buy stock directly from the company without a broker's fees. Each company has different amounts for initial investment, subsequent investment, etc.
