automatic car or manual car?

I prefer automatic.

i would go with automatic. because it's just easier. you dont have to worry about your clutch going out or rolling backwards into a car when you're at a stoplight.

It's better to use the manula because you are responsible for your safety!...You can control the maual car by yourself!...lolz

For experienced driver everyone prefers to a manual-driven cars, but for new drivers its better to to have an automatic-driven cars for total convenience. Manual-driven cars can be customized to what pace of travel speed you want. While automatic-driven cars cannot be customized to what pace of travel speed you want. Since you mention your friend is living in an uphill location, automatic-driven cars have an advantage for you don't have to worry about changes in road slopes anymore, just kick the accelerator and your done. For city driving, automatic-driven cars have an advantage, for you don't have to worry anymore frequent clutching, just focus only to your driving wheel and your done. Tell your friend, an automatic-driven cars have an advantage to suit her preference.

Base on my experience which until now were living at the capital city of my country, my suggestion, your friend should be to buy an automatic car because it easier to control and good for women.

I'd rather buy an automatic car. It's easier to drive although it's a tad bit more expensive than buying a manual car.

My fellow cebuana. I myself is a driver, I've been driving since I was 16, now I'm 37. If you are talking about comfort, automatic transmission is good, but if you are talking about economy in gasoline, manual is better. Let me explain, traffic here is unpredictable. A manual transmission will change gear when it increases speed or decreases speed, automatically. The higher the gear, the lower it consumes gasoline. The lower the gear, the more it consumes gasoline. So my point is, when running in our city, usually in automatic, it stays in low gear 'cause you cannot increase speed, so it's consumption in gasoline is enormous. Unlike manual transmission, although you are on low speed, you can change it to higher gear 'cause it's manual, thus reducing consumption of gasoline. I hope you understand what I'm explaining.

A real driver always prefers manual transmission. Automatic is only for convenience not to enjoy your driving. Other points would be; Manual cars are comparatively safer and higher fuel efficient ones.

If she is living ins a crowded city with traffic jams and what not, then I would preffer automatic.

Auto in traffic (if you are from the philippines, you know darn well why!) Manual during long ones, oh also when I drag! ^_^

i think it's better to have a manual car.she would b able to handle it easier in the crowded city (unless she just got her license)....she can safe the fuel also since the automatic one consume more fuel than manual one especially in the city. the best is make the decision herself since it is her money and choose what suit for her...... p/s:when will i buy a new car....(sad)

If you're in the US, go for automatic. Otherwise... tough choice. Automatic is always more relaxes and comfortable. But manual lets you have more control.

Honestly I love driving standard cars, especially the sporty ones. As a general car for all purposes, I like automatic. Standard cars are mostly for young people or for people that haven't started a family yet.

given your friend's location,it's preferable for her to get a car with an automatic transmission.normally, typical girls prefer getting automatic cars snce it's easier to manuever and it's more convenient as compared to manual.the fact that you don't have to worry about the clutch makes an automatic car preferable over manual.

i pefer manual over automatic, first of all it give you better gas milages, second it is better handle in the snow if there is snow and it is also have better pick up. but if she is not used to driving a manual car it would be automatic

I like both. I prefer a manual, but that's because I learnt to drive in one, and I feel lost in an automatic with no clutch.. I'm so used to having to pay attention to what I'm doing that in an automatic, I get a little bored.
