How you punish your enemy?

Assuming that you have this person who killed your family and tried to kill you. How are you going to deal with him? Are you going to kill him? or let the law of land do the punishment.

Speaking in a clear mind as right now, I will probably send that person to police, and let the law punish this person..But, if this really happened, I don't know if I will kill him as well..
