People are lazy and don't want to have to bother with putting on snow tires or chains. They think that they are good drivers and can easily handle a bit of snow. They forget that compact snow on the roads is very slippery, and they were never taught how to properly slow down on ice. We just had a big snow storm in Washington, and yesterday there was a huge wreck involving 18 cars and 11 semi's. It was a disaster. People are stupid when it comes to driving in the snow.

Ya know... living not too far from you I can relate completely!!!! It never fails here in Erie that we get snow, even if it's a little sprinkle and we have accidents all over the place! Especially messed up is the main interstate going through the city, I-90!!! Now, just like you, I scratch my head and think "did all of you JUST move here this week from Florida or something?!!!" It's simply amazing. I guess we'll be getting your snow tomorrow! WOOHOOO.... watch out accidents! LOL

Maybe the people think that the snow is little so they can drive like every normal day. About the snowtires I haven't put them too I have never put snowtires on my car.

This is quite simple,I live in Alberta and the same happens here. The major problem is ,that all new comers to this country from countries that do not have snow, get their drivers licences during the summer and have no idea of how much difference there is. everyoneshould take the test with snow on the roads during the winter only, once they pass that then fine.
